ALOO MATAR RECIPE/POTATO & PEAS CURRY RECIPE/

ALOO MATAR SIDEDISH RECIPE/आलू मटर रेसिपी 



     Potatoes(Aloo) and Peas(Matar) make a good combination.  Aloo matar is one of the common recipes in different forms in different parts of India.  Here is a quick a easy recipe made with potatoes and fresh green peas.  This is a sidedish which goes well with chapathies, poories, roties, phulkas and parathas.


INGREDIENTS:


2 pieces Cinamon

2 Cardamom

1 tsp Cumin Seeds

1 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tsp Red Chilli powder

2 tsps Coriander powder

2 Onions, finely chopped

1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste

2 Tomatoes, finely chopped

4 Potatoes, diced 

1 cup Green Peas(fresh)

2 or 3 tbsps Oil for sauteing

Salt to taste


PREPARATION METHOD:


1. In a pressure pan, heat 2 tbsps of oil

2. Add 2 pieces Cinamon, 2 Cardamom  and 1 tsp Cumin seeds

3. When it starts spluttering, add 1 tsp Turmeric powder, 1 tsp Chilli powder and 2 tsps Coriander powder 

4. Saute well

5. Add 2 finely chopped onions, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and 2 finely chopped tomatoes

6. Then add 4 diced potatoes and 1 cup of fresh green peas

7. Add salt to taste and saute well

8. Add a cup of water and pressure cook 

9. Open the lid and add 1 tsp garam masala and chopped coriander leaves

10. Saute till excess water evaporates

11. Your yummy Aloo matar is ready

12. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapathies, poories, phulkas, roties and parathas
