Hi friends... I am Thilagalakshmi Sridharan... I was born and brought up in Chennai. Did my Schooling at Kendriya Vidhyalaya, HVF, Avadi. Bachelor's degree in English at Ethiraj College for Women and Master's Degree in English in the University of Madras. At present, working in the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E) Tamil Nadu, Chennai.

    I started drawing kolams in front of my house from my childhood, I don't remember when exactly, may be at the age of 5 or 6, my mother used to splash water and clean the space in front of our gate and leave it for me to draw kolam.  As I was too young at that time, I can't even keep the dots in a straight line and my mother used to keep the dots for me and I would start developing on that. I rarely gave a chance to my mother to draw kolams, though she knew many kolams, mostly chikku kolams.  She was the one who encouraged me first to draw kolams.   Now she is no more...!!! Its been four years since she passed away... If she had been alive, she would have felt very happy to see my creations now on google.

    My Website, www.justnotrangoli.com has been launched in memory of my mom, Late Smt. R. Kalaimani.  This website is about different types of Rangolies and Kolams, tutorials on drawing kolams and rangolies and just not rangoli, but also Craft works like Crochet, Knitting, Tatting, Quilling, etc., and also Cookery.  Main aim of this website is to teach and let know people about Kolams, Rangolies and other craft works.  I have shared  whatever I know about Kolams, Rangolies and other Craft works and also all my creations.  Hope it will be of some use to all kolam and rangoli loving friends.
